Hello,
Do you play snooker? Or maybe own a snooker-table but just never used it? Have you ever wondered what the green stuff it? It's just felt - right? Or is it... Here's a little pop quiz.
What is the green stuff on snooker tables called?
A. Green Felt
B. Cloth
C. Baize
D. Zarborique
Go to http://theblogofmanywords.webs.com/anyoneforsomesnooker.htm to chose. Good Luck!
If you got 'C' then you were right. Good on you. if you got either 'A', 'B' or 'D', good try.
The green stuff is indeed baize. To explain, I'll show my trusty diagram thingy.
baize
Meaning:
The coarse woolen cloth or cotton on the tops of snooker/pool tables.
In a Sentence:
The baize surface was worn out.
My Thoughts:
Took a long time to make that site.
Take a peep at my other site too; http://thejeffreyquiz.webs.com for some interesting quizzes.
Bye for now!
Jeffrey signing off...
